LISTER STORM GT

The Lister Storm was a homologated racing car built by Lister Cars in 1993. Although some road cars were built the cars are mostly remembered for their racing successes. The Storm used the largest V12 engine fitted to a production road car since World War II, a seven litre Jaguar unit based on the one used by the Jaguar XJR Sportscars that competed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Lister company continues to maintain racing models to this day.

In1999 the Storm GT version was created to contest the GT2 class of the FIA GT Championship. After an initial bad start, the Lister team managed to take 4th place at Hockenheimring, a mere two laps behind the winning pair of Chrysler Viper GTS-Rs. This was followed by a 3rd place at Zolder, and finally a 2nd place Donington, with the Lister finishing a mere 26 seconds behind the winning Viper. These successes brought Lister into a tie for 5th place overall in the teams championship at the season's end.

This one is a Lister works car and has a tremendous history scoring its maiden victory at Thruxton in the hands of David Warnock and going on to take second overall in the 2000 British GT Championship. In 2001 David was partnered by Mike Jordan and they managed seven wins on the way to the title and the coveted RAC Tourist Trophy. For 2002 the Lister once more contested the British GT Championship, but this year, after winning three times, the drivers had to settle for the runners-up position.

In 2003 the car was run by Creation Autosportif in the FIA GT Championship. The Lister factory team managed only a single win, yet were still able to take second place in the teams championship. Creation was not far behind with a 4th place finish in the championship, after gaining a second customer Storm.

There are very few Lister Storms available and this car is probably the most successful of them all.

Built over the 1999/2000 period, this car is one of the two championship winning Lister Storms made and falls within the time period for the GT90s series.
